RPNI — Rust Protection Network Ireland

Terms of use

Approved centres, documented treatments and vehicle records you can verify online.

Terms of use

These terms cover your use of the rpni.ie website. They are not the terms of the rust-protection programme itself — see the note at the bottom of this page.

Last updated: 24 August 2026.

Who we are

rpni.ie is operated by Angels Garage Limited, a company registered in Ireland, company number 823268, registered office N5 Garage, Horsepark, Castlebar, Co. Mayo, F23 NX50, trading under its registered business name Rust Protection Network Ireland (registration number 792276). Contact info@rpni.ie.

RPNI is independently and privately operated. It is not a government body, statutory regulator, insurer, vehicle manufacturer or NCT affiliate.

Approved Centres are independent businesses

RPNI trains, assesses and lists Approved Centres, and maintains the treatment record. RPNI does not carry out treatments. Each Approved Centre is a separate, independently owned business, and your contract for any vehicle work is with that centre, not with RPNI. Prices, appointments, workmanship and consumer rights in respect of the work are matters between you and the centre.

Listing in the directory means a centre has completed RPNI training and assessment at the time of listing. It is not a guarantee of any particular outcome for your vehicle.

The certificate verification service

The verification tool reports what is held in the RPNI register for a certificate number and registration. We provide it in good faith and take care to keep the register accurate, but we do not warrant that a result is complete or free of error, and a result is not a substitute for inspecting a vehicle. A “valid” result confirms that a record exists and its current status; it does not certify the present condition of the vehicle.

Do not rely on the verification tool alone when buying a vehicle.

Using this site

  • You may use the site for your own lawful purposes and to look up certificates and centres.
  • Do not attempt to gain unauthorised access to any account, record or part of the site.
  • Do not run automated bulk queries against the verification tool or the directory, or scrape their contents.
  • Do not submit false, misleading or fraudulent information, including in the garage application form.
  • The RPNI name, logo, site text, photographs and design are our property or used with permission, and may not be copied or used to imply approval or membership you do not hold.

Availability and liability

We aim to keep the site available but it may be interrupted for maintenance or reasons outside our control, and we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be limited. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer under Irish law.

These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland and are subject to the jurisdiction of the Irish courts.

Programme and warranty terms are separate

The eligibility rules, owner-care duties, inspection requirements and the terms of the renewable rust-protection warranty are not set out on this page. They form a separate document, issued with the treatment and available from your Approved Centre, and they will be published here before the programme opens to the public.

Where anything on this website differs from those programme terms, the programme terms apply.
